CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

In our system of education, co-curricular activities play an important role. A particular feature of these activities is that the students from lower classes onwards learn under the supervision and guidance of the teachers to do this for themselves.

THE STUDENT”S COUNCIL

This organization is made up of the captain of teams and representatives of other co-curricular activities along with elected and nominated students of each class from Std. VI to X. Parliamentary procedure is used for all meetings and the main purpose of this group is to assist Principal, Vice-Principal and Staff and all the students in carrying out the various affairs of the school. The moderator of the student body is the Director, who guides the students in a very creative way.

SPORTS PROGRAMME

The Athletic programmes invites the participation of all the students since we believe that keen competition on the playing fields tends to develop a corporate spirit, striving for excellence and other qualities of mind and heart and character most needed for future leaders.

The sport programmes though a part of the co-curricular activities deserves comment in itself. Athletics are encouraged at every level and capable instructors are provided.

Intramural sports are highly emphasized. Each student during the first year in the school, is assigned to one of the four teams: Red, Blue, Green and Yellow. When needed in the various activities he/she is expected to respond to the call of the captain to represent the team in whatever activity or sport he/she is invited to. Intramural competition exists in the following sports and games: Cricket, Football, Basketball, Swimming, Track and Field Events, Table-Tennis, Chess and Badminton.
